Canada — serving Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America and the Middle East

Foluwa Tosan Rewane is a Canadian technology entrepreneur and the founder and chief executive of Rewane Technologies. Raised, groomed and nurtured in Canada, he pairs a Canadian standard of governance, quality and international trade practice with deep personal and family ties to Nigeria and the wider emerging world.
Before building Rewane Technologies, Foluwa spent his career at the intersection of global business relationships, technology ecosystems and the markets that sit outside today's established technology centres. That perspective produced a simple conviction: the next billion technology users deserve products designed specifically for their conditions, not hand-me-downs from wealthier markets.
He founded Rewane Technologies to carry his family's entrepreneurial legacy into the digital age — creating technology products, platforms and partnerships that serve Africa, the Caribbean and West Indies, Latin America and the Middle East from a Canadian foundation.
Under his leadership the company shipped the Rewane platform as four regional editions — AfricaBook, MiddleEastBook, CaribbeanBook and LatamBook — each sharing one serviceable chassis while adapting keyboards, power kits, thermal profiles and conformity routes to the market it serves, and introduced the flagship Rugged Vanguard X15 for field, industrial and public-sector deployment.
He leads the company's route to market in person, from distributor accreditation and in-country service depots to partner programmes and trade appearances such as Afridex in Lagos, where the team meets ministries, school districts and importers face to face.
Foluwa's operating philosophy is generational rather than quarterly: build local service capacity before volume, price for accessibility, and treat distributors, schools and ministries as long-term partners rather than transactions.
“The next billion technology users should not be an afterthought. They should be the design brief.”
Established the company with a mandate to serve emerging markets from a Canadian base of governance, quality standards and international trade relationships.
Drove the engineering brief for a 14-inch chassis with user-replaceable battery, SSD, memory and keyboard, validated for high heat, dust, humidity, altitude and unstable grid power.
AfricaBook A14, MiddleEastBook M14, CaribbeanBook C14 and LatamBook L14 — one platform, localised keyboards, power kits, imaging and conformity routes.
Created a tiered distributor programme with in-country spare-part depots and trained technicians positioned before the first container lands in any market.
Established EDU configurations, classroom bundles and ministry-scale roll-out kits for school districts, universities and government deployments.
Instituted pre-shipment conformity handling — SONCAP/PVoC, SASO, ESMA, ANATEL, NOM and CARICOM routes — so buyers are not left to clear goods alone.
