RewaneBook A14 firmware 2.4: better battery behaviour in hot climates

22 July 2026 · 3 min read

Firmware 2.4 is rolling out to all RewaneBook A14 units — EDU, PRO and PRO+. The headline change is a revised charge curve that reduces cell stress when the machine is charged and used simultaneously in high ambient heat, a normal pattern in Nigerian classrooms and shop-front retail.

The fan profile has been retuned to spin earlier and quieter rather than late and loud. In internal testing at 34°C ambient, sustained multi-core performance held roughly 11% higher over a 30-minute load than firmware 2.2, with surface temperatures unchanged.

Unstable-mains protection has also been tightened: the charger now rides through short brownouts without renegotiating USB-C power delivery, which previously caused occasional charge drop-outs on generator supply.

Distributors can apply the update from the vendor utility pre-installed on every unit, or flash it during pre-delivery inspection. No hardware revision is required and warranty terms are unaffected.
